Paris is one of the most romantic cities in Europe. Many propose marriage when on Paris tours. Are you planning to pop the question to your lady-love during your trip to the nation’s capital? If you are, you would want to know the place from where to do it in the City of Lights. Here is a list of five, and you can choose any one of these according to your preferences and budget.
Esplanade du Trocadéro
You cannot see the Eiffel Tower from the landmark itself. If you want to have the best view of the “Iron Lady”, just go to the Trocadéro’s esplanade. Hit the spot early morning, because there are fewer people at that time of the day and you can see the sunrise behind the Eiffel Tower. So you can propose by going down on one knee while catching the first few rays of the sun.
Avenue de Camoëns
If you want a more unusual view of the tower, then go to Avenue de Camoëns in the 16th arrondissement. This small street has a stunning view, and in spite of its nearness to the relatively more popular Esplanade du Trocadéro, it manages to be a calmer place from which to see the most iconic landmark in Paris. With the classic Parisian architecture and lamp posts serving as a frame, there is no doubt that your proposal will be a picture-perfect one.
Jardin des Tuileries
Are you looking for another Parisian landmark to pop the question? If you are, just head to the area in front of the Jardin des Tuileries, with the Musée du Louvre behind the garden. Hit the Tuileries Garden area early morning to do it while watching the sunrise behind the Louvre Museum. The former royal palace turned museum makes for a pretty nice backdrop for your Tuileries Garden proposal.
Rue de Buenos Ayres
Rue de Buenos Ayres is very close to the Eiffel Tower, and the view is akin to what you would get from the l’Université street. That said, this residential street is often quieter than Rue de l’Université, so if you want to make your proposal a very private affair, it is the perfect area from which to do it.
If you are looking for a private park-like setting to do it from, then you will not find anywhere more Parisian or prettier than Place Dauphine. It is a small haven of peace situated right in the heart of the French capital.
